We must start with the Bible. The Bible is God’s letter to us, His words that He has already given to us. How can we expect Him to speak to us unless we start with the messages He has already given to us? Bible truths are our foundation. The better we know its pages, the more easily we will recognize the voice of God. Familiarity with God’s Biblical word to us makes it so much easier to discern which of all the messages we encounter are from Him and which ones are not.
