God gave a word this morning about the 13 Americans who lost their lives in Kabul. He said, “THEY ARE STEPHEN.”

They were murdered as they tried to rescue others from the coming enemy. They were martyred for freedom. So yes, in many ways, they ARE Stephen, the first Christian murdered in Acts 7. Those 13 men are the first martyrs of the coming persecutions.

Stephen’s death was the first blood of a great revival. After Stephen’s death, other believers didn’t cower or hide. They were emboldened.
Stephen’s death was God’s witness to non-believers. Many multitudes believed.

There are Afghani Christians and American missionaries left behind in Afghanistan who are not hiding from the Taliban. Instead they are going door to door witnessing. They know their days are short. Unless God miraculously saves them, they WILL be killed. Everyone left behind there is in danger. Many multitudes are coming to Christ in Afghanistan RIGHT NOW.

Pray, Beloved! The storm has begun. The first blood has been spilled. They are Stephen.

Martyrs are God’s greatest witness.

“While they were stoning him, Stephen prayed, ‘Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.’ Then he fell on his knees and cried out, ‘Lord, do not hold this sin against them.’ When he had said this, he fell asleep.” Acts 7:59-60
