Today: Psalms 103:13-22; 2 Corinthians 1:12-22; 2 Chronicles 29 & 30; 2 Chronicles 31:1
Psalms 103
“But from everlasting to everlasting the LORD’s love is with those who fear Him, and His righteousness with their children’s children–with those who keep His covenant and remember to obey His precepts.” Psalm 103:17-18
David continues his soul pep talk in today’s passage from Psalm 103. He meditates on God’s power, love, and character. I have my own David mornings when I meditate on God and pep talk my own soul. I usually wake up early, between 4:30-5:30am, and spend two hours praying, playing worship music on my guitar and singing, reading my Bible, and writing in my journal. I watch the sunrise with Jesus every morning. I worship Him and sing His praises along with all of creation. It is the most wonderful, glorious part of my day!
“Praise the LORD, all His heavenly hosts, you His servants who do His will. Praise the LORD, all His works everywhere in His dominion.” Psalm 103:20-22

2 Chronicles 30 – Hezekiah
I love the times when good, godly kings reigned over Judah. Those were the best times of great blessings and peace. Hezekiah came to rule following several wicked kings who had desecrated the temple. The people had forgotten about God and engaged in idolatry and other wicked practices.
Hezekiah came in and cleaned up. He started with the Levites and the priests who first consecrated themselves and then consecrated the temple. Then Hezekiah invited all the Israelites to come to Jerusalem and celebrate Passover. He invited all of Judah to come back to God along with him. And they did! With gusto!!
All the people celebrated and worshiped God together. After the seven days were over, they all decided to celebrate for seven more days! They all took part in smashing the idols and cutting down the Asherah poles. They all destroyed the high places and the altars.
“There was great joy in Jerusalem, for since the days of Solomon son of David king of Israel there had been nothing like this in Jerusalem. The priests and the Levites stood to bless the people, and God heard them, for their prayer reached heaven, His holy dwelling place.” 2 Chronicles 30:26-27
We find ourselves in a similar situation — daughters and sons of a generation who has fallen away from God and forgotten Him. He is inviting us to return to Him, to remember His precepts and celebrate His salvation through Jesus Christ. Let’s do it! Let’s return to God together!! With gusto!!!
