2 Chronicles 32
King Hezekiah loved and honored the LORD throughout his rule. And God blessed him abundantly. Even as Hezekiah aged and became arrogant (as did so many of the good kings), he repented and returned to God.
When Sennacherib, king of Assyria, threatened to attack Judah, he tried to turn the Israelites against Hezekiah. Sennacherib’s slander and lies about Hezekiah sound so familiar today. These are the same lies we are fed about the few good leaders we have by our God-mocking, secular media.
Hezekiah responded by crying out in prayer to heaven. “And the LORD sent an angel, who annihilated all the fighting men and the commanders and officers in the camp of the Assyrian king. So [Sennacherib] withdrew to his own land in disgrace. And when he went into the temple of his god, some of his sons, his own flesh and blood, cut him down with the sword.” (v.21)
Wouldn’t that be something?! God send Your angels and deliver us, AMEN!
