Proverbs 9 – Foolishness
There is no shortage of this ‘foolishness’ in our world. We are surrounded by it and it calls out to us, inviting us to join in. Foolishness parades boisterously around all over Facebook, and TikTok, and YouTube. Social media has become the newest stage for foolishness… the latest doorway into this old house of fools… Our social media is merely a modern twisted seat in the ‘high places’ of the city calling out to those who pass by, “whoever is naive, let him turn in here… stolen water is sweet and bread eaten in secret is pleasant.” (v.16-17)
Be careful what you let into your life through social media. So much good can be accomplished within it. I use it every day. But it is a road lined with treacherous detours. Much foolishness lurks there… and the foolish person “does not know that the dead are there, that her guests are in the depths of Sheol.” (v.18)
