2 Corinthians 10
“The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” 2 Corinthians 10:4-5
Do you practice spiritual warfare? Do you know how? If not, then you are naked and unarmed on the battlefield. These three sentences in 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 are the foundation of spiritual warfare. God’s word truly is our sword and in its pages we find powerful weapons to fight against our spiritual enemies. This passage also reveals that our own thoughts are where much of the battle is waged. Learning how to “take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ” is how I was healed from a 30 year struggle with depression. Controlling my thoughts with prayer, meditation, and scripture was my key to healing from depression.
