Today: Proverbs 20:25-30; Proverbs 21:1-4; 1 Corinthians 15:50-58; 1 Corinthians 16:1-4; 2 Chronicles 21:4-20; 2 Chronicles 22
1 Corinthians 15
“Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed — in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.” 1 Corinthians 15:51-52
Some day… SOME DAY, Beloved, we will be changed, perfect, holy, glorified. This is a great comfort to me. My soul gets excited when I think about it.
Paul is trying to shift his readers over to ETERNAL VISION, just as Jesus did for His hearers. This life is not all there is. Death is not the end. Don’t despair. Don’t give up! The work we are doing is not in vain. It is eternal. WE are eternal!
“But thanks be to God! He gives us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians 15:56

2 Chronicles 21
Even though King Asa and Jehoshaphat were followed by a succession of wicked kings, “nevertheless, because of the covenant the LORD had made with David, the LORD was not willing to destroy the house of David. He had promised to maintain a lamp for him and his descendants forever.” (v.7)
God does not break His covenants. From generation to generation, His promises are true. The prayers of believers throughout history are STILL affecting and protecting us today. Did you have a believing grandmother or mother who prayed for YOU? God may be blessing you or holding back punishment because of their prayers for you. Do NOT discount the power of prayer. We, as well, should ‘pray it forward’ and lift up our loved ones to God.
