Mark 10

Jesus tried over and over to warn the disciples what was going to happen to Him. But they never got it. Instead they continued to posture for positions of power in this earthly kingdom they think Jesus will build. James and John asked to sit at Jesus’ side, next to his coming throne. The other disciples weren’t happy that the sons of thunder asked this.  There was dissension in the camp!

Jesus reminded them again that they were thinking about this all backwards. This new kingdom was completely opposite of everything they had ever known. The leaders of this new kingdom are servants.

Jesus asked Bartimaeus, the blind man, the exact same question He had asked James and John, “What do you want Me to do for you?” James and John had asked for positions of power. Bartimaeus asked only to see. Jesus had refused the disciples’ request. But he healed Bartimaeus and gave him sight.

Jesus asks each of us this question, “What do you want Me to do for you?” May we choose SIGHT!

Leviticus 5

God is still giving the Israelites rules for UNINTENTIONAL sins in Leviticus 5!

“So the priest shall make atonement for him concerning his sin which he committed UNINTENTIONALLY and DID NO KNOW IT. And it will be forgiven him. It is a guilt offering; he was CERTAINLY GUILTY before the LORD.” Leviticus 5:19-19

God is saying, hey dummies! You sin even when you don’t mean to, and then you don’t even realize that you sinned. Get it yet? How much more obvious could God be? How’s this saving yourself thing working out for you hmmmmm??? How desperately they needed the coming Savior!
