Psalms 60
“God has spoken in His holiness: ‘I will triumph.'” Psalms 60:5
Not only WILL God triumph, He already HAS triumphed over His (and our) enemies. God reigns outside of time. It is only US, during our time in these cursed flesh bodies, who are stuck within this physical construct of TIME. We are in this cosmic football game where we have to run out the clock. But God already knows what is going to happen because He can see our entire human timeline simultaneously. It is very difficult for our finite human brains to conceive of existence without time, but God has no such limitations. Some day this will be our reality as well; we will also exist with God outside of time. Some day our human timeline will cease to be. So when God says He WILL triumph, He means it! He knows. It IS true! How great is our God!! “Through God we will do valiantly, and it is He who will trample down our enemies.” (v.12) Hallelujah!

John 8
People who are not that familiar with the Bible often say that Jesus was only a good teacher who never claimed to be God. But this is absolutely not true. Jesus claimed to be God many times, including in John 8 when He told the Pharisees, “You are from below, I am from above; you are of this world, I am not of this world. Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am, you will die in your sins.” (v.24)
When Jesus said, “I am,” He used the same words God used in Exodus when He revealed Himself to Moses at the burning bush by saying, “I AM WHO I AM.” (Exodus 3:14-16)
And just in case the Pharisees missed it the first time, Jesus says it again, “When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am…” (v.28)
The true meaning of Jesus’ words might get a bit lost in translation for US. But His Jewish audience would have understood exactly what He meant. Jesus was claiming to be GOD. He also laid out the way to salvation when He said, “…unless you believe that I am, you will die in your sins.” (v.24)
Jesus made it very clear. He WAS God and we must believe He is God to be saved. I do believe it!!
Judges 18 & 19
Wow, Israel had completely lost its way. The Israelites set up idols in their cities and celebrated it as if it were something good. They had become wicked and vile, practicing rape and torture. They had truly given themselves to Satan.
Is our culture any different? We celebrate evil, worship idols, are obsessed with sex. We also are a people with no king. May God have mercy on us.
