Never in the history of mankind has there been a story like that of the Israelites. There has never been another people chosen by God in this same way. Never has there been another people God so embraced, and lead, and loved, and forgave, and worked alongside in such a divine way.
But then, he extends this same care to ALL of us, doesn’t he? This is God’s pattern. He starts small, gives us an example to show us how he works. And then offers that same relationship to all of us.
Everything he has ever done, everything he has ever created, was all for a single purpose… to teach us about him… so that we can KNOW him. He wants us to know him more than anything else. He desires to have relationship with us. If we only open our eyes to see that the entire universe is a love letter to us. How magnificent!
