The Power of Prayer

MY prayer is that we believers understand how powerful prayer really is. If we only could catch the tiniest glimpse of it, we would collectively fall to our knees. We would devour His presence with insatiable hunger. The roar of our voices would rip open the doors of heaven. Our prayers would change the whole world!

New Painting! The Trees Will Rejoice

My latest painting! “The Trees Will Rejoice”

“Oh, sing unto the LORD a new song! Sing unto the LORD, all the earth.” Psalm 96:1

The 96th Psalm is a jubilant praise song. It declares the glory of God to all the nations. All of God’s marvelous #creation praises Him, the heavens, the earth, the sea, the fields and woods.

I love to be outdoors enveloped by nature. I especially love to hike through the woods. God’s presence is so evident when I stroll beneath the regal oaks and pines in the forests next to our homestead. I have often noted how the trees, with their leafy branches reaching toward the sun, appear to be praising their Creator. And they are!

The Rock

God doesn’t promise us a life without burdens. The stones will inevitably litter our path. Sometimes they look heavy, unwieldy, imposing lying there in front of us. How will we ever manage to carry them? But Jesus does promise to walk through the journey with us. He offers to heft our struggles upon His own strong shoulders if we let Him. And then on the underside of it, after we make it through the storm, there is the treasure. There is the shining glittery treasure, the strength, character, deeper faith, peace, victory and all the other gifts that can usually only be found by picking up those ugly rocks.
