Depressed people often think happy people must have easy lives. Angry people think happy people are stupid. Bitter people think happy people are faking it. When people always excuse their own unhappiness, they never understand that the root, and solution, for their own unhappiness is within their own souls.
Read more →The good news is that the ending of the battle has already been determined. Good won the battle when Jesus died on the cross and defeated death by returning to life. That part is finished. The battle is over and good has won the victory. Now WE just have to run out the clock, play our part in the physical timeline. But the good guy is not only fighting for us, He’s given us a helper, the Holy Spirit, who is always with us.

A lot of us want to plant our feet in both camps to make everybody happy, to be nice, to be comfortable. But we either believe in Jesus or we don’t. Jesus IS offensive. Read more →My challenge to anyone reading this is to just try fifteen minutes of meditative prayer every day this year. If fifteen is too hard, try ten. Five is better than none. Meditative prayer has made all the difference in my own life. Connecting with God this way has healed me emotionally and spiritually. It has tapped me into a joy that I didn’t even know was possible. I have watched close friends heal from trauma and abuse after they began practicing meditative prayer. In my case, I have been completely healed from depression for over 23 years now. It works.

The more time you spend with Him, the deeper your relationship will become. You will learn to hear and recognize His voice. He will open your heart, mind and soul to enter ever more deeply into His mysteries, His joy, and His peace. There is no end to the depth of this amazing relationship. As long as your pursue Him, He will keep taking you further.

Relationship with God is just like a relationship with another human, it requires time spent together to grow deeper.
Read more →Spending time with God every day is an act of worship. It’s not always amazing. I don’t always hear his voice. I don’t always have visions. That part is all up to him. And that’s okay. My only responsibility is to make the time. This is an hour every day when my soul reaches toward the Creator of the Universe to seek relationship. This is the most essential way any of us could ever spend an hour.
