Living a life of joy, peace, and victory in Jesus Christ must be CHOSEN over and over again every single day.
God doesn’t just PLANT victory upon you. A lot of Christians have this idea that you can reach this place where God just plants this awesome peace and joy on you… that you’ll just automatically feel peace and joy all the time.
But that never happens in this life. God never forces anything upon us, not even the good stuff. It’s part of His free will covenant with us.
We must always PARTNER with God for these things. As we encounter difficulties and trials, which are inevitable in this world, we must CHOOSE God’s love, peace, joy and victory. We’ve got to make that conscious, intentional choice.
Then AFTER we reach out to God, He WILL divinely impart these things to us… HE does the actual heavy lifting — but WE must do the asking and choosing first. The Bible says that you have not because you ask not…
But it’s more than a “God PLEASE give me joy…” begging kind of prayer. God also says to ask in faith, believing that you have already received…”
So that’s the rest of it… the part where YOU choose. And it looks like this: Okay God, I don’t naturally FEEL joy right now, but I’m going to walk by FAITH, not by sight. So I CHOOSE to believe that I am more than a conqueror through the blood of Jesus Christ right now, even though my physical eyes can’t see it… my human emotions don’t naturally feel it… but by faith I CHOOSE to BELIEVE it anyway!
And God WILL be faithful to that kind of mindset. And you will be amazed how your life will change.
