I have occasionally had visions where I am lying on a stone altar. Sometimes in my visions, the fiery glory of God consumes the altar. Sometimes, Jesus Himself stands over me and pierces my heart with a sword. These sound like terrible visions! But they are actually quite fantastic, the most wonderful visions I could ever wish for myself. These represent spiritual state — a dying to myself and my own will so that I might be completely surrendered to God’s will. This is my prayer for myself!

There are the five “enlarge my territory” things I pray to receive from God every day: I ask for wisdom, discernment, discipline, humility, and a heart that loves God above all else. If God grants me these requests, I will be rich indeed!

Jesus’ death and resurrection perfectly fulfilled the law of Moses. He lived a perfect life, never broke a single rule, and so became the holy sacrifice that covers all of our sins. Now salvation was available to EVERYONE! Now the Jews no longer needed to be our example of God’s favor. Jesus opened up God’s favor to ALL of us! Hallelujah!

Craig and I are prodigal Christians. Be both lived our own way without God for many years. We did a lot of bad things and made many terrible choices that hurt others and hurt ourselves. God saved us both in amazing, miraculous ways. We KNOW how bad we are without God. We KNOW we don’t deserve God’s mercy and forgiveness. We carry in our hearts a deep thankfulness that God reached down and saved us from ourselves.

GOD IS SOVEREIGN!!! I cannot shout it loud enough. HE, ONLY HE, is the ruler of the universe. He is in charge of EVERYTHING. No one is like Him.

Do you feel tired? Do you feel your soul groaning over the difficulties of this life? All of creation groans with us. But this cursed state is only temporary. The day is coming when we will be liberated from our “bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.”

Sin is our default position. That natural state of sin must be put to death so that our souls can live in communion with Christ. We do this by embracing Christ’s death on the cross and resurrection. The more we focus on Christ, the more the Holy Spirit will make us become like Him. We will know this is taking place when our desire to do sinful things grows less and less.

Judgment is certainly coming, church. God is speaking through His prophets all over the world. Only God knows His timing. But it is reaching crescendo. It WILL happen. Get ready. Hang onto Jesus because His blood will be the only sure footing as we travel through the coming fire. All else is going to get burned up. But for His remnant that comes through that fire… HE HEALS. Hang on for the healing. Pray for the healing.

That’s the kind of faith we also need to have, faith that believes completely that God is completely in control, that God holds the keys to life itself, that the laws of physics bend before God’s will, that is God says it, it is TRUTH. THAT is Abraham faith.
