"I Have Written Your Name"

“I have written your name on the palm of my hand.” Isaiah 49:16

This verse is one of my favorites of the prophetic Isaiah scriptures. It looks forward to the Messiah’s coming and alludes to His sacrifice on the cross. The personal message of this verse, the fact that it says “YOUR name,” is so meaningful to me. Those nails were pounded into HIS hands instead of ours. They carved out His love for each one of us into the palms of His two hands. Visualize yourself, your heart and soul, safely enfolded within His nail-pierced hands. Those nail scars declare YOUR name. They declare Christ’s love for YOU.
