EXERCISE
(20 minutes)
If you have a quiet, peaceful place where you can sit outside for today’s meditation exercise, try it! If not, you can also use images on your phone or computer to focus on nature. I realize that using a computer to replace actual nature might seem a bit hypocritical. The real thing is better if possible… But the computer version offers no bugs or humidity!
Here are videos of beautiful nature scenes that you can use for today’s exercise. Or feel free to find your own. These videos include nature sounds only for today’s exercise.
Take a few moments to select your video before you begin. Start the video and skip any ad that may play before the video begins. (We don’t want your peaceful quiet to be interrupted by a noisy annoying advertisement.) After your nature video has begun, set your timer for 20 minutes and relax into your meditation.
Practice stilling your thoughts as you focus on the scenes and sounds in the video. Imagine yourself within the scene. What does the air feel and smell like? Spend some time thanking God and worshipping Him for the beauty and wonder of the earth He has created for us. Let the worries of your life melt around you as you relax into the scene. See how deeply you can lose yourself within these magnificent landscapes and dive into the extravagant heart of God. Enter into His sweet rest for the entire 20 minutes.
